Labradorite, a silvery gray stone, displays beautiful flashes of iridescent blue, green and yellow. Visually this has got to be one of my favorite stones. This stone gets its name after being discovered in Labrador, Canada in 1770. Gem quality labradorite is found in Finland and is referred to as Spectrolite.
Labradorite is a highly mystical and protective stone aligning physical and mental bodies to access spiritual purpose. The iridescent flashes jolt you to reveal your spiritual destiny and promote wise use of you psychic abilities on your journey. In healing this iridescence acts as a reflective shield, protecting the aura of the wearer.
Labradorite is said to bring relief from depression and hopelessness, instilling hope and self-confidence. It does this by dispelling negativity and bringing clarity of thought and understanding.
Associated with the brow chakra (third eye) labradorite helps us shift awareness outside the normal range, and encourages us to embrace new ideas and opportunities.
